| Bocanegra is currently training with the United States National Team in preparation for their upcoming friendlies against England, Spain and Argentina, as well as the beginning of the World Cup qualifying campaign. The defender says it is his preference to stay in the Premier League, but has also been linked with PSV Eindhoven in Holland and Osasuna in Spain. Former manager Chris Coleman, the man who brought Bocanegra to Craven Cottage, is also said to be interested in the US international's services for Coventry City in the Championship, while ASD has learned that a Champions League qualifier is doing its homework on the player. Bocanegra made 124 appearances for Fulham, 112 of those starts, scoring eight goals. His finest season came in 2006/07, when he scored five goals to sit second on the team behind fellow American Brain McBride. The 29-year-old also took on the role of captain for a spell under Lawrie Sanchez beginning in September. Roy Hodgson looks to be attempting the bolster his side to avoid the relegation battle as Fulham beat Juventus and Bayern Munich to the signature of Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. |
