REVS AMBUSH FC DALLAS
The New England Revolution used two early goals from Adam Cristman and Steve Ralston to win 2-1 and take three points from FC Dallas to stretch their own unbeaten streak to five games.

If FCD was looking to reverse their recent road fortunes, that idea vanished in the fifth minute when Sainey Nyassi evaded Bobby Rhine's sliding challenge. Finding himself in open space, Nyassi made no mistake with his delivery bending his cross onto the head of a diving Cristman at the far post.

Rhine nearly made up for his mistake two minutes later when his shot caromed off Matt Reis' crossbar. Though the woodwork foiled Rhine, the rebound fell to Marcelo Saragosa who attempted to pick out the far post, but instead found the lunging Kenny Cooper who finished easily only to be called offside.

The Hoop's fortunes took another turn for the worse in the 22nd minute. Despite clearing a Revolution corner kick, referee Michael Kennedy signaled for a penalty for a foul by Drew Moor on Jeff Larentowicz. After issuing a yellow card to Duilio Davino for dissent, Ralston stepped and slotted past Ray Burse.

FC Dallas pushed forward, and Dominic Oduro, Rhine and Cooper were all foiled by Reis before Arturo Alvarez finally broke through in stoppage time. Oduro streaked down the right flank and delivered an inch-perfect cross that Alvarez side-foot volleyed into the top of the net.

The late strike ruined Reis' shutout, but the Revolution moved to 23 points to sit atop Major League Soccer after 12 matches. FCD dropped to 3-5-4 with the loss.

O'BRIEN SPARKS QUAKES WIN
San Jose made the best of its few chances, Ronnie O'Brien providing the service, to defeat the Columbus Crew 2-0 at Crew Stadium.

Columbus just missed opening the scoring in the 8th minute through a Chad Marshall header before the immaculate service of O'Brien struck two minutes later. After receiving a pass from John Cunliffe, O'Brien bent a right-footed cross into the path of Ryan Johnson whose header glanced off the hand of Will Hesmer and into the back of the net.

Marshall was forced to depart in the 27th minute after being on the receiving end of a reckless Cunliffe challenge. Throughout the first half Columbus looked the more dangerous side with the best chance coming when Jed Zayner hit the crossbar with a long-range blast in his first start.

But despite their efforts, the Crew could not keep the ball off O'Brien's dangerous right foot. They paid the price in the 60th minute when O'Brien found Ramiro Corrales whose powerful header beat Hesmer.

The Crew seemed to have narrowed the deficit seven minutes later through Alejandro Moreno, but on review the Venezuelan was ruled to have used his arm.

The game then took a turn for the ugly with Kelly Gray and Robbie Rogers receiving yellow cards before Brad Evans was ejected for a rash tackle on Gray in the 80th minute. Eric Denton was lucky to stay in the game himself after sending Frankie Hejduk flying, but San Jose still wouldn't finish with 11 after James Riley received his second booking for a foul on Rogers.

Rogers nearly scored in extra time, but sent his sliding volley directly at Joe Cannon. The loss drops Columbus to 6-4-1 and ties them with Chicago with 19 points. San Jose recorded their third win but is still mired in last in the Western Conference on 10 points.

LATE EMILIO HEROICS LIFT UNITED
DC United snatched a draw from the mouth of the Chicago Fire with Jaime Moreno and Luciano Emilio canceling out an early Chad Barrett strike.

Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Fred missed early chances, and Chicago seemed to be on the road to a league-leading seventh victory when Barrett bundled a shot past Zach Wells in the 27th minute after being sent through by Blanco.

Fred nearly answered back twice in the matter of 10 minutes but goalkeeping heroics by Jon Busch prevented the Brazilian from finding the back of the net.

Both sides went down to 10 men in the 55th minute when Brandon Prideaux and Marcelo Gallardo saw red for extracurriculars in the Chicago penalty area.

Eight minutes later, DC capitalized on the extra space when Emilio cut back past two defenders and fired low towards the back post. Busch came up big once again but Moreno was in the right place at the right time to even the score.

United nearly went ahead in the 83rd when Marc Burch's free kick deflected off the Chicago wall and forced an amazing save from Busch once again. Unfortunately for DC, they were forced to finish with nine players after Bryan Namoff was sent off for a tackle on Blanco in the 88th minute, his second yellow in a three minute stretch.

In the end, Namoff's ejection wouldn't matter. In the second minute of extra time the Fire defense gave Emilio far too much space, and the Brazilian finished past Busch at the near post.

The victory gives DC 13 points despite seven defeats while Chicago suffered their third home defeat to stay on 19 points.

RSL HOSTS SCORELESS WIZARDS DRAW
Kevin Hartman and Nick Rimando turned in flawless performances as Real Salt Lake and Kansas City scuffled to a scoreless draw.

Claudio Lopez and Robbie Findley squandered early chances before Davy Arnaud nearly sent the Wizards ahead in the sixth minute. After receiving a lay-off pass from Ivan Trujillo, Arnaud drove a shot that beat Rimando but not his crossbar.

Kenny Deuchar and Kyle Beckerman both missed chances later in the half before the Scottish forward nearly got the better of Hartman, heading down a corner kick. But Hartman wasn't to be beat, meeting all challenges RSL could pose.

RSL was consistently the more dangerous side, but the Wizards almost stole the three points late through Kerry Zavagnin only to have Rimando tip the shot away.

GALAXY HANG ON AGAINST RAPIDS
Los Angeles continued their explosive offensive play as well as their erratic defensive play, narrowing defeating the Colorado Rapids 3-2 at the Home Depot Center.

The Galaxy were without Landon Donovan who was away on national team duty, but managed to break through four minutes into the contest through Alvaro Pires. Pires fired home from close range after a David Beckham free kick caromed around in the box, eventually landing invitingly at the Brazilian's feet.

Edson Buddle made the lead two in the 32nd minute when he blasted a low shot past Preston Burpo. Twelve minutes later both sides went down to 10 men when Alan Gordon and Facundo Erpen were sent off for after Erpen kicked out at the Galaxy forward and Gordon retaliated.

Los Angeles got off to a fast start once again in the second period when rookie Ely Allen scored his first career goal, bending a shot past Burpo on a breakaway.

Though a victory looked guaranteed, Colorado doggedly fought back to within a goal. The Rapids first came through Colin Clark, who fed Omar Cummings down the sideline. The forward held the ball up long enough to bring Clark back into the play, eventually laying the ball off to the winger who left Abel Xavier behind and finished easily.

Former Galaxy forward Herculez Gomez made the match even more interesting in the 82nd minute when he finished past Steve Cronin after the Galaxy goalkeeper deflected a shot.

Though the Rapids pushed forward, smelling a late equalizer, Los Angeles barely hung on. The victory sends LA to first place in the Western Conference with 17 points while Colorado is two back with 15.

DE ROSARIO, CHING PACE DYNAMO
Houston stalwarts Dwayne De Rosario and Brain Ching combined for three goals to beat Toronto FC 3-1 and send the Dynamo into first place in the Western Conference.

De Rosario finished a pass from Ching just before the stroke of halftime to stake the Dynamo to a 1-0 halftime lead. Ching sent a bouncing through ball into the seam between the TFC central defenders, and De Rosario did what he does best, finding a way to put the ball in the back of the net.

Houston benefited from the partnership once again seven minutes after De Ro laid the ball off to Ching who controlled and finished into the top corner.

Ching would make it a brace in the 69th when United States under-23 international Stuart Holden found the Hawaiian unmarked in the area where he headed past Greg Sutton.

TFC pulled one back through Jeff Cunningham in the 71st with a moment of brilliance, beating Onstad with a powerful shot from distance.

Scoring
HOU - Dwayne De Rosario 4 (Brian Ching) 45+
